Mountaineering and climbing

The destination Zermatt Täsch Randa has its roots in alpine sport and mountaineering. 65 licensed mountain guides know all about the mountain world around the Matterhorn, with its 38 4,000-metre peaks. It is also possible for people with a good level of physical fitness – and the appropriate respect for the mountain – to take part in this extreme sport. The Breithorn, which can be reached from the Matterhorn glacier paradise (3,883 m above sea level) in a 2.5-hours glacier hike, is considered to be the easiest 4,000-metre climb in the Alps. Try the gorge passages or attempt your first climb on the Riffelhorn or on the Schweifinen fixed climbing trail (via ferrata). Place your trust in our mountain guides. In June, the destination offers an exciting range of alpine experience possibilities within the framework of the “Alpine Week”.
